Navigating through (or to) the medical system - LITERALLY

Driven by ambulance, for the second time in four days 🚑 Geoff has just been wheeled off to the X-ray machine in an attempt to diagnose the cause of high temperatures and severe left chest pain (likely in the lung). Thankfully, our paramedic daughter, Ruth, hadn’t quite left our place when the pain became acute resulting in a much calmer decision to call 000.

A good dose of morphine, an elder’s prayer, a ride in the wheelchair Ruth had hired in the afternoon, and a careful transfer to the stretcher made for a safe path to the ambulance. Here Zeke interceded for us before the throne of grace, encouraging our hearts.

More tests including a CT scan will hopefully provide some answers. Geoff is on oxygen, a drip and connected to a bunch of machines yet resting peacefully!

Countless blessings of today:

Quiet morning coffee

Encouraging messages and cards

Breakfast pancakes with Geoff

Guidance in preparing for the Oncology appointment

Support in talking with the oncologist

A lovely RN who seems to be ‘popping up’ at specialist appointments

Lunch cooked and prepared by the family team

Washing dried and folded

A squeaky hinge oiled, a blocked drain cleared, digital clocks reset after the power cut

Happy sounds of our youngest grandson

Delicious dinner provided by dear friends

So many channels of God’s love in just one day - my sister and brother, our children and their families, our dear church family and more ...
